Privacy Policy
Better Twitter collects, transmits, sells, and shares ZERO user data. We believe your timeline, reading preferences, and bookmarks belong exclusively to you. The extension operates entirely within your browser offline, communicates with no external telemetry or tracking servers, and contains zero remote code.
1. Zero Data Collection & Transmission
Better Twitter does not collect any personal data, usage analytics, or browsing habits. Our architecture is deliberately designed so that no user data ever leaves your computer.
No Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
We do not collect names, email addresses, handles, passwords, IP addresses, or device fingerprints. You are completely anonymous.
No Browsing History or Activity Tracking
We do not monitor the URLs you visit, the accounts you view, or your activity outside or inside X. What you browse stays yours.
No Tweet or Content Harvesting
Your tweets, replies, likes, bookmarks, and direct messages are never harvested, scraped, logged, or processed by any external service.
Zero External Network Calls
The extension makes zero outbound network requests. No background pings, no license checks, and zero third-party telemetry beacons.
2. Local Browser Storage Only
Any data required for Better Twitter to operate is stored strictly on your local machine using standard Chrome WebExtension storage (chrome.storage.local):
-
UI Toggles & Preferences: Your selected settings for hiding promoted posts, sidebar modules, metrics, and default feed tab preferences.
-
Themes & Visual Customization: Your selected theme (e.g. Dracula, Nord, Matrix, Minimal) and personalized hex accent color.
-
Local Bookmark Hub: Any custom tags, folders, or local bookmark cache you create are stored purely within your local browser sandbox and never synced to cloud servers.
-
Twemoji Reaction Preferences: Your customized quick reaction emojis.
When you uninstall Better Twitter or clear your browser's extension data, all stored local preferences and bookmark metadata are immediately and permanently destroyed by your browser.
